Hello, I am Jalelah Abdul-Raheem! I am from Moore, Oklahoma, and I am the founder of J Atifa RN Support Services, LLC. I have a son who has autism, ADHD, DMDD, and anxiety. I started J Atifa RN Support Services, LLC because I want to help parents, families, and caregivers who have children with special needs. I have struggled with finding the proper support I need and have spent time looking for things that could help me throughout the process of dealing with the emotional and behavioral challenges my son faces in social and school settings. I decided to start J Atifa RN Support Services, LLC to become an additional resource for parents, families, and caregivers within the community who have similar experiences.
In addition to being a mother of a child with disabilities, I have been a Registered Nurse for over 14 years, and I have been in nursing education for the past 12 years. I have worked in a variety of settings such as Adult Medical Surgical, Pediatrics, and Home Health. To increase my ability to educate others, I finished my PhD in Nursing Education in 2015. Despite my nursing experience and educational knowledge, I felt like I was in uncharted territory and unprepared to manage my son’s diagnosis. I have learned from trial and error and relied on others who were gracious enough to share stories with me in the hopes that I would soon be able to figure out how to help him properly. This lack of knowledge led to me become a Board-Certified Cognitive Specialist (BCCS) to be more aware of how to care for my son, advocate for him within the school systems, and expand my ability to think outside of the box to create tools that may help him.
My goal is to let others know they are not alone and do not have to have all the answers. I want parents, families, and caregivers to feel supported and have access to resources and tools that can be used and adapted quickly.
Our mission is to equip families and professionals with the tools to identify triggers, develop proactive strategies, and gain control over challenging situations through free resources, expert guidance, and education.
